The growing need to improve air quality and productivity in pig farming was echoed by the NPA following Defra’s recent consultation on its Clean Air Strategy. The work Phillips Animal Health is doing with I-TEK means they can supply complete buildings or internal equipment as part of a new build or refurbishment, helping to improve air quality and productivity.

In particular the I-TEK EXATOP Ventilation System is outstanding. It regulates the air flow and pressure in the room resulting in ‘homogenous oxygenation’. In practice air quality is excellent. The system proved its value in an independent field study carried out by the AFFSA [French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety] in 2010. The results highlight the benefits of EXATOP with significantly reduced levels of ammonia [NH3] and carbon dioxide [CO2] creating a much better living and working environment. More details can be found in the Phillips Pig Equipment catalogue.
